The Solidarity of Grief
Insecurity is often described as a feeling that invades us when we are uncertain of the outcome of a dire situation. When applied to reality and to the environment, it becomes a disease to cure. In November 2020 the country of Haiti witnessed the kidnapping of a young medical intern close to his workplace. That act of violence pushed the interns, doctors and nurses to organize and protest in the street. Across the country they manifested, “we are serving our country, no more kidnapping”. Young people want to live, have a secure country. No more banditry. This uprising by young professionals has shown the extent of how the intolerable going to school and work under this condition is. This uprising of young professional is a testimony to the intolerable political chaos.
